Why the Facility…

With 30 years of golf practice behind me, I understand that practice does not make perfect. “Only Quality practice make perfect”….!

The fast track to learning any skills, simply comes from repetition of quality practice.

Bulk Practice

Is the term I use to describe quality repetition. We need the right ingredients and environment in order to produce quality practice.

Ingredients required. Visual Aids – physical – tangible – feedback – focus

Environment required. Private – temperature control – Experienced, quality, qualified skilled coaches.

Everyone needs bulk practice in order to improve.

In a hot country such as Thailand this is the only environment to produce BULK PRACTICE.

Variable Practice

Golf is variable, as such variable practice is essential but we need to understand the order. Firstly comes the bulk practice, when we become more automatic in the bulk environment we challenge ourselves in the variable environment.

The environment we need to do the best variable practice in on the golf course. Experiencing and understanding, Pre shot routines, shot making, awkward lies, green reading and the artistry of the short game.

My intensive coaching days are exactly that “intensive”. I Understanding the human body and its boundaries and believe from experience have found the best blend of quality practice to get the most out of every day. Half the day spend in the perfect indoor Bulk environment facility and the second half the day spent on course.

In my experience I have coached many people who thought they could hit balls all day in the sun but unfortunately the quality part fails fast.

IntroductionAndy with Simon Yates

Andy focus’s is on simple fundamentals,  the platform that dictates your swing, and the process that proceeds it. Often golf instruction complicates an already difficult game,  and players get stuck in techniques which restricts their natural ability to perform an automatic flowing movement.

We should not need a degree in engineering to understand the mechanics of a golf swing.

For our swings to perform well, we need to swing freely.

For our body to swing freely we need to keep it simple.

Simple process, then HIT.....

I have played on Tour, I have played with, and watched some of the games great golfers, I have been coached by some great teachers, I have caddied on tour, I have taught hundreds of beginners from many different countries, different cultures and I coach current tour players.

My experiences have taught me all I know about the game of golf. How our bodies bio mechanics work, how movement patterns evolve and how the brain and mind works.  THE CONCEPT OF ANDY.

The Fundamentals to Andy’s golf philosophy have been developed from his own personal golfing journey.

From representing his county and country at amateur youth level, to winning numerous PGA professional events and a former Asian Tour Player.  Andy learnt much from his playing experiences and from some great coaches who have coached him.

Since his playing days, Andy developed still further his knowledge of the game by becoming a fitness specialist and an expert in youth development. Through IYCA fitness,  Istvan Balyi LTAD Athletic Development.

Andy’s reputation is growing in South East Asia all the time with impressive clientele such as Simon Yates and Chris Rodgers in the pro ranks as well as some impressive amateurs in the region.

Chris Rodgers “Asian tour winner”

"I have known Andy since we played county golf back in the good old days, which I think is too long ago to mention!! Even then he was meticulous in his practice, and was well known for his hard work. Over the years Andy has kept an eye on my game, and has always offerd me qaulity and subjective advice on how I can make improvments to my golf, for which I am greatful to him for his honesty and can certainly credit him for my successs on the tour. But I think above all of these things, Andy is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet and is just a quality guy thru and thru!"

Simon Yates “2 time winner and 3rd all time money earner on the Asian tour”

“Andy has competed against me on the Asian tour, he has caddied for me on the European tour and now we work together to improve my game. I’ve known Andy for many year, he is a very good player an excellent coach and a great person”

Fitness training

“Legs are the platform for every swing, so my goal is to create a strong powerful base”   Tiger Woods

In today’s modern game creating and maintaining ideal posture maximises our golfing performance. Andy’s fitness knowledge helps students to understand the bio mechanics of their swing and how flexibility, stability and strength in different areas can help. Based on a good platform Andy works on balance and movement patterns.

Golf instruction

Andy will offer you the knowledge of the many years of experience Andy has accumulated.  In Andy’s opinion many people play golf but very few people understand it. Understanding your swing is instrumental in how you can improve it.  When you leave your week with Andy you will have the knowledge to practice correctly and reproduce your new skills.
